Collaboration & Craftsmanship

In my work, I strongly believe in specialization. That's why I collaborate with John Kool, a recognized specialist in saddle fitting and saddle sales.
Where John ensures the perfect fit for horse and rider, I focus on the maintenance, repair, and protection of the leather.
This collaboration provides a unique combination of comfort, durability, and quality — precisely what Van Doorn Exclusief stands for.

Professional Use & Maintenance

Maintenance for your riding saddle

✔ Safe, responsible & of Dutch origin

All Derma Leather products are developed in a human and animal-friendly manner
and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

What is better not to use?

✖ Oil, grease or wax

These can oversaturate the leather, making it too soft
and causing it to lose its shape and firmness.

Additionally, these products attract sand and dirt, which also allows
sweat and salts to penetrate deeper into the leather. This can lead to
dehydration, weakening, and damage to the leather.

Also avoid harsh cleaning agents, all-purpose cleaners,
hard brushes, and excessive use of water.

Step-by-step plan – how and how often to use

Step 1 – Clean
Use Derma Leather Cleaner with a soft brush
to remove dirt, sweat, and residue.
Allow the leather to dry thoroughly until it feels dry to the touch.

Step 2 – Nourish
Apply a thin layer of Derma Leather Conditioner with a vinyl sponge.
This deeply nourishes the leather and maintains its natural suppleness.
Usage: once every 2 months.

Step 3 – Protect
Wait at least 24 hours after conditioning.
Then apply Derma Leather Protection.
Maximum 3 times per year.

Step 4 – Interim maintenance
Use Derma Leather 3-in-1 for light cleaning and refreshing
after training or competition.

Maintenance for riding boots

✔ Suitable for high-quality leather riding boots
✖ Not suitable for patent leather boots

Derma Leather products extend the lifespan,
appearance, and comfort of leather riding boots.

Patent leather has a closed synthetic top layer and
does not absorb nourishment or protection.
For patent leather boots, only use a slightly damp cloth.
